Climate change is causing major changes in forests. The Fourth National Forest Inventory (2012-2022) carried out in Germany shows this. In those ten years, spruce stocks decreased by 17% to just over 1 billion m³ – in contrast to pine, where an increase in stocks was recorded (+24 M. m³ between 2012 and 2022).
