That is 11.61 cents per kWh. Converted into tonnes, the pellet price reached €569,10/t (purchase of 6 t) in September. This is the price as recorded on September 7 and reported by proPellets Austria.
In August, pellets cost €537.8/t. Thus, the price rose by €31.3/t month on month. Compared to September 2021 (€229.5/t), the Austrian pellet price more than doubled, recording an increase of 148%. In light of the strong growth of pellet boiler sales and concerns about supply in winter, prices could continue to rise. In Germany, wood pellets cost €763.8/t in September – so there is a big difference in prices.
