The 14 wind turbines of the Blisterliden Wind Farm in the municipality of Skellefteå are built in partnership with the supplier Nordex and are expected to go into operation in 2026. Holmen’s Board of Directors wants to invest SEK 1.5 billion (€130 million) in the energy generation project. The aim of this investment is to increase the group’s annual production of renewable energy from water and wind by 360 GWh to just over 2 TWh.
In addition to the wind farms in Varsvik (greater Stockholm area) and Blåbergsliden (central Sweden), Holmen plans to carry out around 30 projects which are currently in various stages of development.
