German pellet price still at €243/t

The price of loose pellets (purchase quantity 6 t) has fallen below the €275/t-mark in all 16 federal states of Germany. Over the summer, the pellet price has remained stable, and there is no longer a gap between the north and south of the country.

On September 9, an average pellet price of €243.4/t is reported for Germany. It remained at the same level as in the previous month. On September 9, 2023, the average price was €356.33/t (-31.7%). Two years ago, €792.7/t were reported. This corresponds to a decrease of €549/t or 69.3%.

Prices range from €237.7/t in Bavaria to €267.5/t in the state of Saarland. Buyers pay on average €239.8/t in Thuringia, €240.1/t in Berlin, €241.6/t in Saxony-Anhalt, €242.1/t in Hesse and €243.2/t in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Apart from Saarland, pellets are most expensive in Bremen (€251.5/t), North Rhine-Westphalia (€250.2/t) and Brandenburg (€249.9/t).
