2022 changed the pellet price level

In 2024, the average pellet price for end consumers in Germany was €289/t and thus at the ten-year average level. After the start of the war in Ukraine three years ago, pellet prices more than doubled at first, only to fall by more than 50%.

In the past ten years (2014 to 2024), the average annual price for pellets was €286/t. The lowest annual price, i.e. €231/t, was recorded in 2016, while the peak was unsurprisingly reached in 2022 at €519/t (loose pellets, purchase quantity 6 t, ENplus A1 quality). Over the past two years, German pellet prices have fallen again, by €101/t or 57% from 2023 to 2024 alone.

Compared to the period 2014 to 2021 (€243/t), the 2024 average price was 19% or €46/t higher.
