1.5 million sm³ of windthrow timber valued at approximately DKK 300 million (€ 40 million) are the result of the two storms in Denmark late last year.

The majority of it – 1.1 million sm³ – accrued in private and communal forest, reports the Danish Forest Association. In North Jutland alone, 430,000 sm³ of trees were blown down or damaged. In the region of Zealand and Storstrømmen 300,000 sm³ fell prey to the storm. Funen, reported 180,000 sm³ and South Jutland 170,000 sm³. This makes 2013 the fifth-worst storm year on the country's record. 2005 the amount of timber damaged by storms had reached a similar extent.
