Hardwood cutting at a ten-year low in 2024

In 2024, hardwood cutting reached the lowest levels of the past ten years both in Germany and Austria. While German hardwood sawmills plan to increase their overall cutting volume by 16% this year, Austrian mills reported a target cutting volume which is 18% above the level recorded in 2023.
