In 2024, Germany shipped 99,000 m³ of oak logs to China, which corresponds to a year-on-year increase of 81% (2023: 54,500 m³). As a result, China received 63% of total German exports – compared to only 44% in the year before (2023: 124,000 m³).
Demand from Belgium tripled last year (13,300 m³; +191%), while shipments of oak logs to Vietnam (8,300 m³, +105%) more than doubled compared to 2023. Exports to France grew by 6%, from 7,100 m³ in 2023 to 7,600 m³ in 2024.
A decrease was recorded in oak log exports to Denmark, which were down by just over half, from 13,900 m³ in 2023 to 6,400 m³ last year. Sales in Sweden decreased by 31% to 3,800 m³. A downward trend can also be observed in deliveries to Poland (3,500 m³; -42%).
Meanwhile, oak log exports to Austria remained stable at 4,000 m³.
