From January to April, Sweden exported a total of 4.48 million m³ of softwood lumber and planed timber. Year on year, the overall volume decreased by 292,000 m³. With 1.04 million m³, 23% of Sweden’s exports were headed to Great Britain. Compared to last year, they grew by 37% (2020: 758,000 m³). Increases were also recorded in shipments to the Netherlands (399,000 m³; +6%) and Denmark (363,000 m³; +11%), for example.

Softwood lumber exports to Germany fell by 4% to 289,000 m³. Sweden also saw a negative development in the US (265,000 m³; -7%) and in Japan (254,000 m³; -17%). The biggest relative decreases were once again recorded in shipments to Egypt (246,000 m³; -59%) and China (151,000 m³; -56%).
