At Valåsen in Karlskoga, Moelven’s biggest sawmill, the plan is to put a new energy center (€5.6 million) into operation by the end of the year and a pellet plant (€36 million) is going to follow by 2024. Another €17 million are invested in the retrofitting of the sawmill, which includes a new saw line and camera technology for the log sorting line.
At the Moelven Edanesågen site, the entire production process will be overhauled, from the sorting line to the infeed, a new saw line and new dryers. With a total of SEK 450 million, this will be Moelven’s biggest single investment. The project is to be completed in the first half of 2024.
A total of SEK 600 million (€56 million) are to be invested. “Both sawmills will ensure our company’s international competitiveness in the future,” says CEO Morten Kristiansen of Moelven Industrier ASA.
