Finnish lumber exports exactly at the previous year’s level

From January to November, 970,000 m³ of softwood lumber were exported to Egypt. In the same period of 2022, exports to the country had totaled 1 million m³ (-4.8%). Shipments to China decreased by 8.4% year on year to 730,000 m³. Slightly more softwood lumber was exported to Great Britain (630,000 m³; +1%).

Finland exported 570,000 m³ of softwood lumber, i.e. 22% more than in 2022, to Estonia. The biggest increase was recorded in shipments to Algeria (340,000 m³; +52%). Japan received 550,000 m³ (-19%) in the first eleven months and Saudi Arabia 350,000 m³ (-23%). In both countries, Finland recorded the biggest relative decrease in exports.
