Further decrease in sawmill sales

According to Destatis, the German sawmill industry saw a month-on-month decrease in its sales in July. Year on year, though, sales remained more or less constant. Compared to the first seven months of 2023, sales have been down by 10%.

In July, the German sawmill industry generated €523,2 million in sales, recording a month-on-month decrease of 3% (June: €539.3 million). Compared to July 2023 (€524.6 million), sales remained more or less constant.

From January to July, sales totaled €3.6 billion. Year on year, this corresponds to a decrease of 10% or around €407 million. Compared to the same period of 2022, sales were down by 35% or more than €1.9 billion.
