In the period January to November 2024, China, the US, Poland and Mexico were the most important foreign markets for German beech lumber. Year on year, all four of them received bigger volumes: China +26% to 91,000 m³, USA +6% to 48,000 m³, Poland +20% to 28,000 m³, and Mexico + 26% to 22,000 m³.
In total, German beech lumber exports increased by 11% to 346,000 m³, as figures published by Destatis show. When you look further back in the Datacube, you can see that the first eleven months of 2023 and 2024 were, in fact, the weakest since 2009, with a volume of around 300,000 m³.
