Mayr-Melnhof Holz, Leoben/AT, and Kirchdorfer Fertigteilholding (KFTH), Wöllersdorf/AT, have established a joint venture for the production of wood-concrete elements. The two companies hold 50% of the shares of the new company, MMK Holz-Beton-Fertigteile GmbH, based in Wöllersdorf. R&D managers Thomas Lierzer (Mayr-Melnhof) and Alexander Barnaš (KFTH) will be acting as CEOs.
MMK is to coordinate and implement activities of the parent companies’ research departments to develop standardized, industrially prefabricated timber-concrete elements. Production and international sales is also the responsibility of the new company.
