Housing project in London consists of 3900 m³ of wood
In Hackney, London, construction work at the UK's largest laminated timber building has begun. The ten storey building with 121 residential units will be made of 3852 m³ of CLT, the English magazine Construction Manager reveals. The laminated wood comes from Binderholz Bausysteme, Unterberg/AT. The Austrian company is implementing the project through its strategic X-Lam Alliance with British solid wood specialist B+K Structures, Derby. Waugh Thistleton Architects are responsible for the design. The construction with 16,000 m² floor space was developed by Regal Homes.
