Tyrolean group Binderholz is about acquire PHB Burgbernheimer Holzbau, Burgbernheim/DE, and all of its staff members via the incorporation Binder Beteiligungs AG, Fügen/AT. From now on, the corporation will be conducting business under the name of Binderholz Burgbernheim GmbH. The Tyrolean timber group announced in a press release that the acquisition will become effective in August.
The new owners are planning on modernizing the glulam production and expanding their output. Binderholz confirms that they have the required space for an expansion available. The site in Central Franconia, Germany, will be supplied with dry and quality graded lumber by the Binderholz sawmill in Kösching 120 km away. In the course of integrating the glulam factory into the group, Binderholz expects to benefit from further synergies.

According to previous surveys on glulam production conducted by Timber-Online, the generated output in Burgbernheim had fluctuated between 31,000 and 37,000 m³/yr.
