Canadian CLT pioneer Structurlam is planning on building another production site in US state Arkansas. The amount to be invested is US-$90 million (€80.9 million), the project will create 130 jobs. Launch of production is scheduled for mid-2021, as the company informs.

"We’re proud to establish roots in the great state of Arkansas and the City of Conway, and support Walmart as the exclusive supplier of mass timber products for its new home office campus," Hardy Wentzel, CEO of Structurlam, says. The world's biggest retailer Walmart has plans to build new headquarters in Bentonville within the upcoming years - it will be the biggest home office campus made from wood in the whole of the US.

Next to this wooden Walmart mega project, Structurlam wants to use the new US plant to supply the growing markets for CLT and industrial mattings in the southern, central and eastern United States.
