The investments amount to the equivalent of around € 3.3 million, and 19 additional jobs are to be created. Completion is expected for 2025. Already, this plant is the biggest production site for I-joist beams in the UK. The family-run business also says that in the next five years another major investment is planned for the sawmill in Mosstodloch/UK.
James Jones & Sons produces lumber, wood materials, pallets and wood packaging in a total of 26 locations. Since this year, the forest products enterprise has also held a 60% stake in the Australian company Mayflower Enterprises, the holding company of Hyne Timber and XLam.
