At 435,000 m³, Austria’s laminated timber exports were just slightly above the level recorded in the first quarter of 2023 (+1%). While exports to Italy increased by 10% to 189,000 m³, sales in Germany (65,000 m³; -19%) and France (33,000 m³; -27%) saw marked decreases.
31,000 m³ (+8%) were exported to Switzerland. Japan, Austria’s number one overseas market, received 25,000 m³ (+51%) of glulam and CLT.
