In May, German manufacturers of kitchen furniture generated €501 million in sales, recording a 5% increase compared to April, when sales had totaled €526 million. This is according to official data published by the Federal Statistical Office Destatis. In May last year, sales amounted to €561 million in the kitchen furniture segment and were thus 11% higher than this year.
Manufacturers of office and shop furniture reported total sales of €335 million in May, which corresponds to a month-on-month decrease of 9% (April 2024: €367 million). Compared to May 2023 (€390 million), sales were down by 14%.
In the segment Other furniture, German manufacturers generated €461 million in sales in the month of May, i.e. 13% more than in April (€527 million) but 18% less than in May 2023 (€564 million).
