More laminated timber to Japan again

Article by Günther Jauk (translated by Eva Guzely) | 02.12.2024 - 08:48

From January to October, Japan imported 565,000 m³ of glue-laminated and cross-laminated timber. While this does correspond to a year-on-year increase of 25%, imports were still well below the levels recorded in previous years. A look in the Datacube shows that 2012 was the last year in which Japan imported less than 600,000 m³ of laminated timber.

Finland (243,000 m³; +22%), Romania (79,000 m³; +30%) and Austria (64,000 m³; +25%) were Japan’s most important supplying countries.
