Asian demand for industrial pellets continued to grow in 2023, while European demand decreased substantially. Europe accounted for half of the global production output of mainly pellets for heat generation. In total, 48.8 million tonnes were produced worldwide last year. Thus, production exceeded demand by 4.4 million tonnes or 10%.
