Despite an increase of €3.8/t (excluding VAT, transport and handling costs) compared to September, the neutral German pellet price in October (€192.2/t) is still lower than prices in Austria and Switzerland. The price is still well below the €200/t-mark, which was last exceeded in March (€204.1/t). Compared to last year, the neutral German pellet price fell by €63.4/t (October 2023: €255.6/t).
In Austria, a slightly smaller month-on-month increase of €1.8/t was recorded, meaning that the neutral pellet price is now at €271.1/t. Year on year, however, it decreased by €74.2/t.
The Swiss pellet price fell by €41.5/t compared to last year. Thus, buyers pay €294.5/t in October. In September, a neutral pellet price of €284.5/t was recorded, which is exactly €10/t less than the October price. Compared to Germany, Swiss pellets are still nearly €100/t more expensive. In comparison with Austria, there is a price difference of “only” €77.4/t.
