At 107,000 t, Germany increased its imports from Denmark by 15%. Compared to 2023, Denmark’s share in Germany’s total imports rose by 10 percentage points to currently 31%. Meanwhile, pellet imports from the US decreased by 18% to 77,000 t.
Figures published by Destatis also show that smaller quantities of wood pellets were purchased from Belgium (42,000 t; -13%), Poland (38,000 t; -44%), Ukraine (26,000 t; -29%) and Austria (16,000 t, -33%). A marked decrease was also recorded in imports from the Czech Republic (11,000 t; -67%) and the Netherlands (10,000 t; -56%).
Albeit at a low level, Germany massively increased its pellet imports from France (7,000 t; +333%) and China (5,000 t; +1,721%).
