Pellet price keeps rising

In January, the German Pellet Institute (DEPI) reported an average pellet price of €306.4/t. This corresponds to a month-on-month increase of 18.6% or €57/t. Year on year, the pellet price rose by 15.6% (February 2024: €314.3/t).

A commercial quantity of 26 tonnes costs on average €348.9/t in Germany, i.e. 20.7% more than in January (€289.1/t).

The following regional differences can be observed in the price for 6 tonnes of wood pellets. In February, buyers pay €359.9/t in central Germany, €364.3/t in the south and €268.7/t in the north and east of the country. A commercial quantity of 26 tonnes costs €347.3/t in central and €348.2/t in southern Germany. In the east and north, a price of €355.6/t is reported.
