IFN calls for better wood quality and ecological forest management
The Initiative Furnier + Natur (IFN, "initiative veneer + nature") is promoting better forestry and timber quality in Germany. "The third national forest inventory has brought to light a progressive deterioration of timber quality caused by ever decreasing felling cycles", explains IFN-chairman Axel Groh. He calls for enhancing the share of colored hardwoods in natural forest habitats. Only healthy and stable forests bring forth good and valuable timber in the long term.
