Sawlog price index up by 9%

In the first quarter, the global sawlog price index (GSPI) rose for a third time in a row, reaching $79/m³ (€67/m³). As Wood Resources International (WRI) reports, it is much higher than the ten-year average.

In Europe, the sawlog price index (ESPI) rose to €81.44/m³ in the first quarter, recording a 9% increase compared to the fourth quarter of 2020. Year on year, the Baltic states and Eastern Europe recorded the biggest price increases.
