For the month of May, Destatis reports a producer price index of 75.8% for spruce logs (2015 = 100%). This is the highest value since June 2019 (76.3%) and an increase of 6.9 percentage points compared to April. Year on year, the index rose by 11.1 percentage points. The producer price of spruce logs, B, went up 3.7 points compared to April, reaching 80.4%.
In May, beech logs were at 101.1%. In April, they had reached the highest level of this year, i.e. 103%. The oak log index fell by 1.9 percentage points month-on-month to 112.8%. Compared to May 2020, a 2.6% decrease was recorded.
