In the first quarter, spruce log wood (III A/B) cost €101.8/m³ in the Czech Republic, which is the highest price of the past 20 years – and probably also the highest one ever recorded. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2021, it rose by 15% while year on year, the increase is 67%.
Between the first quarter of 2003 and the first quarter of 2022, the average Czech log price was €66.9. In this period, the price reached its lowest level, i. e. €46.8/m³, in the fourth quarter of 2008, as data published by the Czech Statistical Office CZSO show.
