The Austrian Timber Industry Association reported a log price index of 158.48% (January 2001 = 100%) for the month of October. Compared to September, the index value was up by 1.45 percentage points. Year on year, the log price index saw an increase of 5.4 percentage points. However, the index value has fallen by 24.34 percentage points from its peak of 182.8% in June 2022.
The lumber price index has experienced a different development. According to the Timber Industry Association, it reached 177.66% in October, which corresponds to a decrease of 14.89 percentage points compared to September and of 39.11 points compared to October 2021.
