2024 report on forest damage: Volume down by 13 M. m³ year on year

Further decrease expected in 2025

In 2024, 21.8 million m³ of damaged wood accumulated in Germany. Year on year, the total volume decreased by 13 million m³ or 37%. According to the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), the federal states predict a further decrease of one third for this year.
