Four countries, one price
Log market: good supply, one price level in southern Germany and central Europe
At the end of the first quarter, the supply of log wood to sawmills in southern Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia remained good. The price level in these countries is uniform, with prices for spruce/fir sawlogs B, 2b, delivered to forest road, ranging from €106 to €120/m³. The favorable weather conditions in Central Europe provided sufficient opportunities for harvesting – which were also taken.
