Norvik Timber has announced it will double production in the sawmill of its Russian subsidiary Norwood in Syktyvkar/RU in January 2015. This is “the next step of the sawmill’s development”, says Aleksander Panyukov, Managing Director of Norwood.

The sawmill will increase production to about 90,000 m³ annually and the production will continue to be sold to markets on the territory of the former Soviet Union and to Byko-Lat, Riga/LV, which is part of the Norvik Timber Industries, for further processing. “Our commitment to the Russian forest industry is long term regardless of the current political turmoil”, says Sampsa Auvinen, CEO of Norvik Timber Industries.
