Germany, Italy, China, Taiwan, Austria and the US are the world’s top 5 manufacturers of woodworking machinery, reports Acimall, the Italian woodworking machinery and tools manufacturers’ association. With an export value of 788 million in the first six months (+0.4% compared to the same period last year), Germany maintains its leadership among exporters of woodworking machinery worldwide. The second most important producer is Italy with 549 million (+7%). China ranks third with 376 million (+14%). Austria comes in fifth (+12%, 194 million).
In the woodworking sector, machinery exports of the United States fell by 11% to 136 million. Yet the country leads the ranks in imports ( 434 million sales value, +18%). In the import ranking, the US are followed by Russia (+4%, 220 million), Germany (+7%, 187 million), China (+12%, 158 million) and Canada (–7%, 115 million) ,
