Slight increase for sawn timber exports

From January to October 2019 Sweden exported 10.6 million m³ of softwood sawn timber including planed timber. This corresponds to a modest increase of 2% compared to last year. Exports to Great Britain remained stable at 2.16 million m³, while those to Egypt saw a strong rise (1.15 million m³; +56%).

824,000 m³ (+7%) were shipped to Norway and 761,000 m³ (-7%) to the Netherlands. Other important markets for Swedish sawn timber were Denmark (684,000 m³; -6%), China (644,000 m³; +18%), Germany (623,000 m³; -10%) and Japan (605,000 m³; +3%). Data are collected by Statistics of Sweden.
