According to Destatis, German sawmills produced a total of 6.508 million m³ of softwood lumber (including planed timber) in the first quarter which is an increase of 436,000 m³ compared to the same period of last year. However, output is still below the 7 million m³ forecast by the Association of the German Sawmill and Timber Industry (DeSH) in May.
