At 1.7 million m³, the volume sold to the US decreased by 349,000 m³ year on year. This also brings the share in total German exports down by two percentage points to 23%.

Figures published by Destatis also show a downward trend for exports to France (614,000 m³; -10%), India (351,000 m³; -13%) and China (292,000 m³; -33%).

Meanwhile, sales in Austria (667,000 m³; +1%) and Italy (464,000 m³; +2%) remained relatively constant. Exactly the same volumes of softwood lumber were exported to the Netherlands (566,000 m³) and Belgium (535,000 m³). 220,000 m³ and thus 21% more were exported to Poland.
