In October, the German sawmill industry generated €533.3 million in sales, recording an increase of 7.6% or €37.6 million compared to September. This is according to data published by Destatis. In comparison with October 2023 (€490 million), sales were up by 8.8% or nearly €43 million. Thus, October was the only month this year in which sales were higher than in the same period last year.
In the first ten months, sales of the German sawmill industry totaled nearly €5.09 billion. Year on year, this corresponds to a decrease of 7.5% or €411.6 million.
