At some point today or these days, the new owner of Ziegler’s sawmill in Plößberg and three other production sites will be revealed. This is a good opportunity to look at the supply situation in Plößberg. Yes, the sawmill is located in the middle of the best spruce growing area and is surrounded by forests – but it is not alone. Near the sawmill in the Upper Palatinate region, a cumulative annual cutting capacity of 10 million m³ of log wood can be found in addition to Plößberg itself.
