After completing the commercial school and military service, Rottenhofer made his first job experiences in 1978, in the office of the machine factory “Springer” located in his home region Carinthia.
His career in the timber industry began after being employed at “Springer”. Rottenhofer was able to learn about this specicfic branch from the bottom up at Hasslacher Norica Timber.
Today, the well-known group cuts as much in one week as it did in one year.
At the age of 24, he was entrusted with management tasks at Hasslacher and he was able to successfully accompany Hasslacher Norica Timber as sales director with his team from the regional league to the "Champions League" until 2010.
Education and training has always been important to him over the years. So, he completed ten semesters of part-time studies with the focus on "market-effective company development and business management” which was very helpful for his professional challenges.
After 30 years with Hasslacher, Rottenhofer has been successfully working with his own company since 2011 with competent advice and support in sales, especially for medium-sized and small sawers on a customer and project basis and has more intensive business relationships with "Radiusholz" (curved and straight CLT), as well as one Italian and two Nordic wood refiners (see article "Change as opportunity").
His son Michael, who was happy to help alongside his studies, founded the sales agency timbergy KG in 2015 - timber meets energy as a vision and mission.
