For more than ten years, the growing timber construction planning office ZMP of Grambach has been relying on teamwork. It is not only a fundamental company value in the daily collaboration between employees. Long-term partnerships with carpentry and industrial companies also contribute to the success of ZMP. This strategy proved successful especially in difficult times and in the handling of challenging projects. Thanks to effective partnerships and extensive collaboration, timber construction projects are efficient and resource-saving.

Many of the partners and business customers have accompanied the ZMP team for many years. Thanks to the close cooperation with carpentry companies, the industry, architects and civil engineers, both sides have developed a deep understanding of the various issues and challenges in mass timber constructions.

“The earlier we are involved in a project, the more efficient and resource-saving the planning process can be from the start. This saves time and money and is less of a strain on the nerves of the project partners,” ZMP Managing Director Peter Steinbauer explains. This form of joint project development proved successful particularly in the realization of big building projects. Problems are identified and discussed at the beginning of the planning process. Solutions suggested by construction engineers can be discussed and incorporated in planning early on, which contributes to a resource-efficient realization of the project.

When it comes to structurally challenging projects in particular, ZMP’s planners can contribute with a solution-oriented approach. Structural analyses for timber constructions differ from conventional planning processes in several aspects. ZMP draws on many years of experience in structural project development and offers simple solutions. By involving structural engineers at an early stage of the project, difficult structural challenges can be avoided. Resources are used in an efficient and sparing way. This way, the competitiveness of timber construction projects is guaranteed, which is a key factor of success especially in the realization of multi-story residential buildings and big timber construction projects.

Stable partnerships proved to be the key to success especially in challenging times. Short distances and simple, personal conversations coupled with a solid foundation of trust characterize everyday company life and make the handling and realization of projects easier for everyone involved – especially when special circumstances require flexibility. Each year, the ZMP team supports around 250 customers in Austria in the planning, development and realization of almost 1,000 timber construction projects. ZMP’s timber construction engineers realize projects of all sizes, drawing on years of experience and extensive knowledge in the field. The ZMP team supports carpenters, architects and project planners already in the early planning phase and contributes to the efficient and optimized realization of timber construction projects. This is something from which everyone, including the end customer, benefits – not only from an ecological, but also from an economic point of view.
