Constant laminated timber imports

Article by Jasmin Rainer (translated by Eva Guzely) | 09.03.2020 - 09:15

The European Statistical Office Eurostat reports that Italian laminated timber imports increased by 1% from 355,000 m³ in 2018 to 357,000 m³ in 2019.

Again, most glulam and CLT, i.e. 241,000 m³ (+3%) came from Austria. Russia follows in second place with an increase of 5% to 33,000 m³. Deliveries from Latvia were up by 21% and reached 20,000 m³. The country is now in third place, whereas Poland lost one place with 12,000 m³ or -33%.

Different data collection and reporting regulations, for example in Austria and Italy, make it difficult to compare foreign trade figures, especially when it comes to glue-laminated timber. The CN code 44189910 is analyzed.
