The combination of ribbed cross-laminated and glue-laminated timber results in a high structural load-bearing capacity with a relatively low weight. Together with optimal edge and surface gluing, the crosswise structure consisting of high-quality raw material guarantees a high degree of dimensional stability. With lengths of up to 16 m, thicknesses of 260 to 490 mm and widths of 90 to 120 cm, the CLT BOX ceiling meets the demanding requirements particularly in the area of multi-story timber buildings with wide spans. In fire resistance tests, the ceiling elements reached a verified value of up to F90/REI90 with a 90 mm CLT panel.
Another advantage: The integrated compartmentalized sound insulation with a wood fiber acoustic panel and the fill, which is also supplied by best wood, guarantees increased footfall sound insulation in the low-frequency range. With the CLT Box ceiling elements, customers can choose to have a rough sawn or sanded visible surface, or a factory-applied, UV-resistant varnish which is available as colorless varnish as well as in eight different color finishes. Thanks to a high degree of prefabrication and the simple connection, this dry construction method guarantees a fast and economical assembly. The ceilings can be walked on and loaded immediately after assembly, which saves time and money. During the fully automatic joining, high-quality drilled holes and cut-outs, such as for stairs or cable and conduit shafts, are made with precision. This way, all customer requirements can be met. The ceiling elements are ready-made when they arrive at the construction site.
