Manufacturers of office and shop furniture generated €401 million in sales in September, i.e. 11% more than in the previous month (€360 million). Year on year, however, sales fell by 7% (September 2022: €431 million).
In the Kitchen furniture segment, sales amounted to €530 million in September and thus increased by 1% compared to August when sales totaled €524 million. Compared to September last year, when €631 million had been generated, sales were down by 16%.
In the Other furniture segment, German manufacturers achieved sales of €547 million in September, recording a 10% increase compared to August (€498 million). Compared to September 2022 (€666 million), sales in this segment were down by 17%.
Looking at the period from January to September 2023, manufacturers of office and shop furniture had a turnover of €3.3 billion. In the same period of last year (January to September 2022: €3.2 billion), turnover was 4% lower. Manufacturers of kitchen furniture generated €4.9 billion in sales from January to September, i.e. 3% more than in the same period of 2022, when sales amounted to €4.7 billion. In the Other furniture segment, sales totaled €5.1 billion in the first nine months and thus suffered a 10% loss year on year (January to September 2022: €5.7 billion).
