Germany with a decrease in chipboard exports

Exports to main buyer Poland increased by 7%, from 480,000 m³ in 2022 to 513,000 m³ in 2023. The Netherlands, Germany’s number two export market, reduced their purchases by 4%, which brings the total to 204,000 m³. France is in third place of the Top 10 markets for German chipboards and OSB. Last year, 195,000 m³ were exported there, i.e. 5% fewer than in 2022.

Decreases were also recorded in chipboard and OSB exports to Great Britain (187,000 m³; -17%), Austria (129,000 m³; -17%), Switzerland (113,000 m³; -3%), China (73,000 m³; -41%) and to other countries (519,000 m³; -20%). Exports to Italy (118,000 m³; +12%), Sweden (98,000 m³; +2%) and Belgium (87,000 m³; +8%), on the other hand, increased in 2023.
