In January, Egypt was the main buyer of Finnish softwood lumber. The country received 75,000 m³ and thus 28% more than in January 2021 (59,000 m³). Last year, the biggest export volume was the one to Great Britain with 84,000 m³. This year, only 45,000 m³ of softwood lumber were shipped there, which corresponds to a 46% decrease. Finland also exported significant volumes to China (63,000 m³; -7%) and Japan (61,000 m³; +35%).
