According to Madison’s Lumber Reporter, 2-by-4 (Western SPF, KD, #2 & better) only cost US-$700/1,000 bft on May 27. In the week before, the price was close to US-$1,000 and in the same period of 2021, 2-by-4 cost US-$1,630.

Due to a slightly stronger euro (US-$1.07/€), European exporters only earned €423/m³, which is a decrease of €180/m³ compared to the week before. Year on year, the price has halved (€864/m³).

The Lumber Futures for July, which are traded at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, are currently at just under US-$600.
