The Austrian Timber Industry Association reports a log price index of 152.8% for the month of April (base: January 2001 = 100%). Compared to March, a decrease of 1.2 percentage points is recorded. Since the start of this year, the index value has increased by 0.79 percentage points. In April 2023, the log price index was at 171.84% and thus 19 percentage points higher.
The lumber price index was up by 1.1 percentage points month on month and reached 157.9% in April. Compared to the start of this year, when the index was at 151.19%, an increase of 6.71 percentage points is recorded. Compared to April 2023 (171.26%), the lumber price index rose by 13.26 percentage points.
